Gallery Late – Līga Ķempe "Painting You Can Hear"

The project is a solo exhibition of paintings by Līga Ķempe with an expanded perceptual experience, which will take place in May 2026 at Galerie Stella (Ģertrūdes Street 2, Riga). The exhibition will feature up to 30 paintings by the artist, created in the classical painting technique—oil on canvas, as well as oil and metal leaf on canvas.   Some of the paintings included in the exhibition will be newly created experimental works, in which additional sensory engagement possibilities will be explored—tactile elements, possibly fragments of Braille writing, as well as scents as an additional layer of perception. These works will be created with the aim of expanding the boundaries of traditional painting and making the art experience multidimensional.   The most significant innovation of the exhibition is the creation of audio paintings—each exhibited work will have an individual audio narration, voiced by well-known personalities in Latvia from various professional fields (artists, actors, musicians, writers, journalists, athletes, etc.).
