Since 2013, Tobias Gutmann (Switzerland) has travelled the world with his “Face-o-mat project”, transforming the simple act of portrait drawing into an innovative interface for human connection and exploring how technology has influenced us to assemble and portray an identity that puts us in the best light.

The act of drawing has become a ritual in which the artist manifests and translates encounters through his hands. This process of looking closely, listening deeply and breathing together, goes beyond representation, revealing the presence behind the face.

An internationally recognised public art project that has been presented in more than 38 cities worldwide since 2013, including Centre Pompidou in Paris and Art Central in Hong Kong. Over the project's lifetime, the artist has created more than 5,500 portraits.

Artists Aleksandra Merbaha and Elīna Eihmane are also participating in the performance.

The event is free of charge. You can register either in advance or on-site; each drawing will be allotted a 7-minute time slot. Registration link.
